Sheffield celebrates World AIDS Day with a month-long spectacular line-up set to excite and entertain across the city.

Held on December 1st each year, World AIDS Day is dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV. World AIDS Day is about raising money, increasing awareness, fighting prejudice and improving education.

The red ribbon is an international symbol of AIDS awareness that is worn by people all year round and particularly around World AIDS Day to demonstrate care and concern about HIV and AIDS, and to remind others of the need for their support and commitment.

In Sheffield there’s something for everyone  as they battle it out to find the city’s best unsigned artists, bring the most eligible bachelors to your door and come together to watch Sheffield’s greatest local talents at the O2 Academy.

However you get involved, your support will help raise much needed funds for three HIV/AIDS charities with strong links to our region and increase awareness of the worldwide AIDS crisis.

AIDS is a global emergency that affects every country and every city in the world. Right now there are 33 million people living with HIV – 80,000 of those people are in the UK.
