Members of Utah's LGBT community have celebrated National Coming Out Day with a fund-raising event and brunch.
The event, a celebration of faith and sexuality, was attended by hundreds of people with the proceeds going to assist LGBT groups and causes.
The day was one of mixed emotions however, the evening function being a far more sobering affair with a memorial for LGBT suicide victims, sponsored by the Foundation for Reconciliation.
Peter Danzig, who organised the memorial at the First Unitarian Church in Salt Lake City, said it was held to 'promote understanding and awareness'.
National Coming Out Day was celebrated early in Utah so that members of its LGBT community can attend the National March for Equality in Washington DC.
