Meredith Baxter, who came out on live television, is planning to pen a memoir.
Baxter, 62, played Elyse Keaton on the '80s sitcom Family Ties.
Broadway Books, an imprint of Crown Publishing Group, announced it had acquired the memoir, saying Baxter will 'present a fully realised portrait of her life as an actress, mother of five children and grandmother, and will candidly discuss her fight with breast cancer, her 19 years of sobriety, entrepreneurship and her decision to come out'.
Baxter was married three times and is now in a relationship with building contractor Nancy Locke. She said that before she started dating women seven years ago, the thought of being gay 'never crossed my mind'.
