MPs from across the political spectrum in Australia have formed a friendship group to deal with LGBT issues.
Federal members of parliament will now have access to vital stats which signify how fair the community are being treated.
Chair of the group Warren Entsch said: "This is an important step in recognising the divide that exists between policy makers and the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) community.
"Social interaction with members and senators of the federal parliament will allow LGBTI Australians to raise issues, build awareness and to provide opportunities for these to be discussed and addressed at a legislative level."
The group is also supported by Queensland Labor MP Graham Perrett and Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young, the Herald Sun report.
